The 2016 Hyundai Veloster Delivers Performance

If you’re going to enjoy a sporty coupe, performance is everything. Hyundai dropped a 4-cylinder 1.6L Gamma GDI engine with a 6-speed transmission into the Veloster.

It may be a small engine, but it’s still capable of producing 132 horses while delivering 7.5 L/100km combined when paired with the 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmissions (DCT). The DCT combines the smooth performance of the automatic transmission with all of the benefits and fuel efficiency of the manual transmission. The paddle shifters on the steering wheel make shifting gears with the DCT thrilling.

The Active ECO system is available on all transmissions in the Veloster. The purpose of the Active ECO system is to modify the control of the engine and transmission in order to deliver an acceleration that uses less fuel.

Gas-charged hydraulic shocks on the front suspension move to give you a curve hugging, exciting sports car ride. You get exceptional steering response from the Motor Driven Power Steering system. Body roll is minimized and the handling is superior thanks to the large front and rear stabilizer bars.

The Hyundai 2016 Veloster is a performance car that comes equipped with six airbags and ABS brakes. Electronic Brake-force Distribution ensures that the wheels are stopped with the proper amount of braking power.

Because the Veloster is built for sport driving, you’ll appreciate the Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control that comes standard on all models.

The Traction Control is used to protect the driver from over-and-under-steering conditions. It works with the Electronic Stability Control to adjust the brake power to each brake. These adjustments are designed to help keep you from sliding out of control.

You know how it performs, but how does it feel to drive the 2016 Hyundai Veloster?

Imagine slipping into the cockpit and settling behind the leather wrapped wheel of the Tech model. You wrap your fingers around the wheel and run your thumb over the F-1 paddle shifter. One hand settles onto the leather wrapped shift knob, and you are ready to push the start button.

The steering wheel is also home to audio and Bluetooth® hands-free phone controls and is available in a heated version to keep your hands warm in the winter.

The 6-way adjustable driver’s seat lets you find the most comfortable way to sit while driving. Your passenger can choose from one of four different adjustments. By being able to make adjustments to the seats, you can lessen driver fatigue.

In the Tech model, you can adjust the lumbar support to make it even more comfortable for long distance driving.

The 7.0-inch touch screen on the dash in front of you provides you with all types of information. Integrated with your smartphone, the system can search your phonebook and make calls for you. The Tech model offers a navigational system through the touch screen.

The technology is so advanced that you can use your voice to command your music library. Plug in your iPod and tell the Veloster what song or artist you want to hear. You’ll hear it over an available 450-watt Dimension® system with eight speakers that include an 8-inch subwoofer. You can listen to your music through a number of devices, including CDs and SiriusXM™ radio.
