Hyundai and Genesis Canada make history, again! Record-breaking sales in 2025 means best year ever in Company History

MARKHAM, Ont. (January 3, 2026) – Hyundai Canada delivered yet another record-breaking sales year in 2025 with 146,184 units sold, an 11 per cent increase from the previous year. Genesis in Canada also raised the bar with 8,221 units sold, up 17 per cent from 2024.This landmark year was driven by strong demand and bold initiatives that set new standards for the industry. Here are the highlights:

Tucson – Leading the Charge
With 41,840 units sold, a remarkable 40 per cent increase from last year, the Tucson has solidified its position as Hyundai’s top-selling model in Canada. Offering gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options, Tucson blends bold design, dynamic performance, advanced safety features, and cutting-edge technology to meet the diverse needs of Canadian drivers.

Palisade – Scoring Big with Hockey Fans
The all-new NHL Edition Palisade was introduced in 2025 and quickly became a fan favourite, proving Canadians love a vehicle that can celebrates their passion for hockey.

With exclusive NHL-inspired details and premium comfort, this special edition vehicle helped with overall Palisade sales, which rose by 17 per cent with 9,226 units sold.

IONIQ 9 – The Electrifying Future
In Spring 2025, Hyundai introduced the IONIQ 9, its first three-row electric SUV, setting a new benchmark for what an EV can be. Offering up to 620 km of range, ultra-fast charging, and a lounge-inspired interior, the IONIQ 9 represents a significant leap forward in Hyundai’s electrification strategy.

Driving Hope, Saving Lives
Beyond record sales, Hyundai Auto Canada made a powerful difference through Hyundai Hope on Wheels and The Greatest Save.

Launched in Canada in 2025, Hyundai Hope on Wheels raised over $4 million with support of Hyundai and its 225 dealers, who contributed to an additional $165,000 towards funding paediatric cancer research at 16 hospitals and centres nationwide.

Hyundai teamed up with the NHL, NHLPA, and Hockey Fights Cancer™ to launch The Greatest Save, an initiative that donates $10 for every goalie save during the 2025–2026 NHL season. This program unites Canada’s love for hockey with a mission to bring hope to children fighting cancer.

GV70 – Redefining Genesis Sales
Genesis Canada celebrated a milestone year, and leading the way was the GV70, with 5,355 units sold, followed closely by the GV80, which also delivered strong results. By delivering an unparalleled guest experience, Genesis continues to raise expectations and redefine premium automotive ownership. Closing the year with another record highlights Canadians’ confidence in the brand and its unwavering commitment to exceptional products and experiences.

Hyundai Motor Group Tops 2025 IIHS Top Safety Awards

Hyundai Motor Group secured a total of 21 TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) and TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards in 2025, the most of any automotive group for the second consecutive year. Among the 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ recipients is Hyundai’s flagship EV, the all-new 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9. Genesis received five TSP+ ratings, and eight Hyundai models received TSP+ ratings.

Strong December for Hyundai and Genesis

Hyundai closed out a historic, record-breaking year with 9,697 units sold. The Tucson (3,486 units), Kona (1,589 units) and Elantra (1,379 units) were the three top-selling Hyundai models in December.

Genesis wrapped up 2025 with a new all-time December sales record with 634 units sold, marking a 15 per cent year-over-year increase.

The momentum was driven by the GV70 and GV80 delivering 394 units and 193 units respectively.
