Hyundai and Genesis Canada Open 2026 on a Record‑Breaking High, Building on Last Year’s Momentum
- Combined January sales for Hyundai and Genesis in Canada total 9,703 units.

MARKHAM, Ont. (February 3, 2026) – Hyundai Auto Canada began 2026 with 9,215 vehicles sold in January, while Genesis Canada reported 488 sales, setting January records for both brands.
Hyundai’s top-selling vehicle continues to be the TUCSON, rising 45 per cent year-over-year to a new January record of 3,311 units. The PALISADE followed with a new all-time monthly sales record of 1,298 units. The award-winning SUV was recently named the 2026 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year, while ELANTRA sales totaled 1,290 units.
Both the PALISADE and ELANTRA are finalists for the 2026 Canadian Car of the Year Awards, placing among the 12 Best Vehicles in Canada for 2026, as named by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC).
These results underscore the strength of Hyundai’s lineup, which continues to resonate with Canadian drivers seeking versatility, capability, and value. Strong demand across these nameplates reflects the increased interest in Hyundai’s diverse and broad portfolio.

Genesis Canada achieved record 488 sales for January 2026, a year-over-year increase of 8 per cent making this the best January for the luxury brand with the GV70 (300 units) and the GV80 (128 units) delivering the highest volume of sales.
