Hyundai announces Canada-exclusive NHL Edition for the all-new 2026 Palisade Hybrid

MARKHAM, ONT. (September 19, 2025) – As the National Hockey League (NHL) is set to begin its 2025-26 season, Hyundai Canada is proud to announce another Canadian-exclusive NHL Edition, this time for its all-new 2026 Palisade.

Following the success of the 2024 Santa Fe NHL Edition, the Palisade Hybrid NHL Edition once again demonstrates Hyundai Canada’s passion for hockey and its commitment as the Official Vehicle of the NHL, National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), and National Hockey League Alumni Association (NHLAA) in Canada.

Limited to just 500 units, the Palisade Hybrid NHL Edition makes a bold statement with its exclusive “Creamy White” matte exterior and Grey Charcoal Nappa leather interior. This special edition model is further distinguished by a suite of premium, team-personalized accessories—including customized door sills, premium floor liner and cargo tray by Luxwood—all featuring the NHL team logo of the customer’s choice. Notably, each of these bespoke elements is crafted by Canadian companies, underscoring a commitment to local innovation and quality.

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade NHL Edition is powered by an all-new, 2.5L turbocharged hybrid powertrain, offering a combined output of 329 horsepower and maximum torque of 339 lb.-ft, with official NRCan ratings of 8.3 L/100 km in the city, 7.9 L/100 km in the highway, and 8.1 L/100 km combined.

Fully equipped
Based on the top-of-the-line Ultimate Calligraphy Hybrid trim, the 2026 Palisade Hybrid NHL Edition offers high-end equipment such as built-in front and rear dash cameras, a full display digital rearview mirror, 21-inch alloy wheels and a dual-pane sunroof.

The exclusive Grey Charcoal Nappa interior also features a head-up display, ventilated second-row seats, driver ergo-motion seat as well as front and second-row seats with relaxation mode. A BOSE  14-speaker premium sound system is also integrated in this special edition vehicle.

About the 2026 Hyundai Palisade
The new Palisade is bigger, better and goes further than its critically acclaimed predecessor and its SUV competition. Not only does Palisade’s additional space, longer driving range and rugged ability impress, its infotainment, convenience, and advanced safety-system upgrades mean that this new model is more capable in every dimension. From the side, proportions are larger overall, with a shorter front overhang (-40mm) longer overall length (+65mm) and wheelbase (+70mm) and a lengthened rear cabin to yield a substantial, premium silhouette. Large alloy wheels – up to 21-inches — generously fill the wheel openings, readily conveying the commanding, planted road presence befitting of a range-topping SUV. Bold, forward-raked D-pillars, and larger, panoramic side glass flood Palisade’s more spacious third row with light and improved visibility.

From the rear, a prominent, upper high-mounted wide stop lamp is visually balanced with a lower fascia element for ideal design harmony. The greenhouse’s reduced tumblehome angle and higher shoulder lines create a stronger on-road presence while enhancing interior spaciousness. The bold, three-dimensional D-pillar form connects seamlessly with the vertical rear lamp signature and integrated roof rails.

The 2026 Palisade offers two new powertrain options. The internal-combustion powertrain boasts a newly developed 3.5-litre V6 producing 287 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The direct-injected engine is coupled to a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission with a multi-plate torque converter. The ICE powertrain and HTRAC® four-wheel-drive configuration is fitted as standard. The naturally-aspirated V6 is targeting a robust 5,000-pound towing capacity, giving active families the flexibility to haul a variety of weekend toys, including campers, boats, and powersports equipment.

For 2026, a hybrid option joins the Palisade powertrain portfolio for the first time. It features an estimated combined total system output of 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque. Palisade HEV’s high efficiency is officially rated for 7.9L/100 km on the highway freeway, yielding a targeted range of more than 800 kilometres. The hybrid powertrain also offers an estimated 4,000 lbs. of towing capacity. Specific features have been added to the hybrid to provide a more EV-like ownership experience, including a new Stay Mode function that monitors the battery system when parked to allow for extended use of the infotainment and HVAC functions. This all-new powertrain features Hyundai’s next-generation hybrid system (TMED-II), significantly improving the previous hybrid system (TMED-I) with its innovated dual-motor design. One motor (P1) is dedicated to starting, battery energy generation, and energy deployment to assist propulsion. The second motor (P2) is responsible for propulsion and regenerative braking. This integrated dual-motor setup improves power, performance and fuel efficiency while achieving smooth shifting and reduced noise and vibrations for a more refined driving experience. Focusing on the P1+P2 parallel structure and combustion engine improvements, fuel efficiency and power performance have been enhanced while achieving smoother shifting and improved powertrain refinement. By connecting the P1 motor directly to the engine, the system reduces engine start time. Precise control of engine load and the driving force of the P1 and P2 motors ensure that the engine operates within a high-efficiency range, improving fuel efficiency.
