Hyundai Auto Canada recognized among 2024 Best Workplaces™ for Professional Development
Hyundai Auto Canada (HAC) has been recognized on the 2024 Best Workplaces™ for Professional Development by Great Place to Work®. The company received this honour after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® where at least 90 per cent of HAC team members provided direct feedback pertaining to having the opportunities for training and professional development.

The company received this honour after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® where at least 90 per cent of HAC team members provided direct feedback pertaining to having the opportunities for training and professional development.

Learning and Development
HAC offers team members various tools, both virtual and in-person, to accommodate flexible learning. LinkedIn Learning courses are accessible for everyone and the human resources team regularly blocks a learning hour in everyone’s calendar to utilize that time for professional development.
HAC’s HR team offers Tuition Reimbursement for any educational program, course or diploma that would further a team member’s development in their career. Moreover, HAC pays for all team members to have access for online courses through CCDI and Pride at Work. HAC’s own Hyundai Performance Academy also offer online courses available for all team members, such as EV TV series on living and optimizing ownership experience of electric vehicles, High Impact Communications, and Appearance and Vehicle Care Protection.
A Subject Matter Expert (SME) presentation takes place every Friday morning and has a theme for every month, I.e., the theme in August is “Masterclass” wherein experts from around the company on various topics deliver a presentation, available to all employees. These SME sessions are a platform for team members to gain knowledge from their peers and industry experts alike across a plethora of industry-focused and business topics they can apply in their own roles, or for a future role.
Sustainable career growth
HAC has recently implemented a formalized processes focused on each team member’s successful career trajectory:
-Career Development Plan as part of the annual review process for each team member
-Job shadowing program
-Mentorship program
This is in addition to mandatory annual and mid-year reviews, helping to foster clear visibility and communication on each team member’s professional growth.
Additionally, all interns and Co-Op students meet with National Managers and Directors to learn more about HAC within the first month of joining the company.
