Consistent with its performance in August, all three powertrain variants (ICE, HEV and PHEV) of the Tucson posted YoY gains. With total September sales up 43 per cent to 4,015 units, it was the top-selling vehicle for Hyundai in Canada. The Kona (EV and ICE), Elantra (HEV and ICE), and Venue all performed well in September, with sales up 28 per cent, 19 per cent and 82 per cent, respectively.
Hyundai’s electrified lineup sold 3,759 units, with the Kona Electric leading once again in pure EV sales (639 units), and Tucson the leader for HEV sales (1,284 units). Sales of the IONIQ 9 through just over four months of sales amount to 796 units.
“Achieving our 12th consecutive record-breaking month is a direct result of the relentless commitment of our 225 dealer partners and the exceptional strength of our product portfolio. Hyundai’s SUV lineup is the engine of this success, with the Tucson leading as our number one selling vehicle, and great results for the all-new Palisade,” says Jessica Todd, director of national sales. “This strong performance is supported by the availability of core models across various segments offering options such as ICE, HEV, PHEV, and pure EV powertrains to meet every customer’s needs, while reinforcing Hyundai’s leadership in sustainable mobility.”
Genesis Canada continues its record-breaking sales ascension in 2025, selling 732 units in September — a 14 per cent increase year-over-year. “Setting a new September record underscores the award-winning appeal and strength of the Genesis product lineup and our brand’s rapidly growing presence in the luxury segment,” says Eric Marshall, director of Genesis Canada. “Sustained, incremental growth is the truest measure of a brand’s health and a testament to the seamless experience we provide to our guests.
