. (Oct. 16, 2025) — Hyundai Canada, together with its network of 225 dealers nationwide, is proud to announce a $100,000 donation to The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Spending time with the children and their families today was incredibly moving. Seeing their strength, courage and positivity in the face of the worst kind of adversity makes us immensely proud to help make the road ahead easier,” says Steve Flamand, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. “Supporting care and survivorship programs at The Children’s is essential, and we are proud to stand here today in support of all the work the medical staff at The Children’s does, serving the entire Quebec region. These superheroes provide more than care, they offer hope to families facing cancer.”

The Children’s serves as a provincial hub for paediatric cancer care, diagnosing approximately 100 new cases of childhood cancer each year. Its Day Treatment Centre sees around 6,500 visits annually, supporting between 100 to 125 patients weekly across all disciplines. Notably, about 40 percent of these young patients travel from regions across Québec, underscoring the Hospital’s vital role in delivering specialized oncology services and advancing cutting-edge research beyond the Montreal area.

“When the best treatment option for a child or adolescent facing cancer is a clinical trial, Hyundai Hope on Wheels’ $100,000 gift takes on its full meaning. It will allow the Children’s Hematology-Oncology Clinical Research Unit to open new clinical trials for children with difficult to treat cancers and blood disorders,” highlights Renée Vézina, president of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Thank you for helping us offer innovative treatments to Quebec’s most vulnerable patients.”

Paediatric Hematology-Oncology at The Children’s is actively involved in a wide range of research initiatives, including clinical drug trials, epidemiological studies, and quality-of-life research, all aimed at improving care and finding cures for childhood cancers. The Hospital is a proud member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the world’s largest organization dedicated exclusively to paediatric cancer research, as well as the National Wilms Tumor Study Group and the Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study Group (IRSG).

The donation was commemorated with Hyundai Hope on Wheels’ signature Handprint Ceremony, where children and families impacted by cancer left their handprints on the Hyundai Hope vehicle, a powerful symbol of resilience and unity in the fight against paediatric cancer. The event brought together representatives from Hyundai Canada, The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, and hospital medical staff to show their support for those on the frontlines of this critical battle.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels, a registered non-profit established in Canada this year, is dedicated to supporting paediatric cancer care and research, and raising awareness about childhood cancer. This donation to The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation is part of a broader $4 million commitment from Hyundai Hope on Wheels in 2025 to support paediatric oncology centres across the country.
