The 2017 Hyundai Sonata – Spending Spring Break behind the wheel

When you start making your spring break plans, include test driving the 2017 Hyundai Sonata before mapping out your route away from the snow.

Long Distance Driving
HYUNDAI-Sonata_covYou want comfort and safety any time that you get behind the wheel and the Sonata delivers both of those no matter how short or long your trip.

Did you know that Hyundai uses something they call Human Machine Interface (HMI) as the focus of their interior design? It means that everything within the cabin of the vehicle has been intuitively laid out for the driver’s comfort and convenience.

For instance, everything that has been placed on the t-shaped centre-stack layout has been grouped for ease; the steering wheel is home to function grouped controls, and the available navigation screen is in the right position for you to see without losing focus on the road.

The display touch-screen comes in either 5- or 8-inches and has a rearview camera and Bluetooth® hands-free phone.  Everything is designed to be within reach without distraction, and that makes driving safer.

Of course, comfort is always an issue, so you will enjoy the way that the available leather seats with contrast stitching pad your body while driving. Even the black cloth seats in the GL model are comfortable and durable.  Adjustable settings let you find the right comfort level for both you and your passenger.

You will appreciate the standard heated seats in all of the models; even if you are heading to a warmer climate like Orlando, Florida. The further south you go, the less you will need those seats and more you will appreciate the air conditioning and available vented front seats for cool comfort. The rear seat is equally comfortable for your passengers with the available rear climate control vent and heated seats.

Five Models
HYUNDAI-Sonata_intYou can choose from five models, and each model is designed to offer more amenities than the last. All models except the 2.0T Sport Ultimate are equipped with Hyundai’s 2.4L dual overhead cam 16-valve I4 185 horsepower gas direct injection engine.

The 2.0T Sport Ultimate comes with a 2.0L dual overhead cam 16-valve I4 turbocharged and intercooled 245 horsepower gas direct injection engine.

Both engines come with dual continuously variable valve timing and 2-stage variable induction system that help make them efficient in any type of driving.

You can get anywhere between 9.4 in the city and 6.5 on the highway with the 2.4L engine and 10.4 in the city and 7.4 L/100km on the highway with the 2.0L.

The 2.0T Sport Ultimate is decked out with a sport suspension, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, an upgraded power steering system that is both column mounted and rack mounted and sport features like a front fascia, sport grille and a sport rear fascia including quad exhaust outlets. Just because it looks, rides and handles like a sports car doesn’t mean you can’t take the family to Disney in it. In fact, it might be one of the best rides at the park.
